Martyn’s passion for singing “folk songs of the British Isles” has never been more evident than on his recent album The Child Ballads, Volume 1. The album features performances of eight of the compositions collected and catalogued in the mid nineteenth century by Harvard scholar Francis Child, which were published in five volumes titled The English and Scottish Popular Ballads, and which have become standards of the folk music idiom.

Martyn Wylde performs solo at folk and acoustic music venues, renaissance, Celtic and folk festivals, house concerts and plays bass withCeltic Mayhem.
